Anna Holloway

Ann Marie Holloway, 85, passed away at her home in Edmond, OK on January 5, 2011. Born March 12, 1925 in New York City, NY to Dr Rudolph and Rose J. Hefti. Raised in Staten Island, NY Ann graduated from Southern Seminary in 1945. She married William L. Holloway, "the boy next door", on June 24, 1946 and started their adventures in the oil fields of Colorado, Montana, Wyoming, and Oklahoma. Happily married for 54 years, they raised four children and lived in five states, finally settling in Covington, LA for the past forty years.  Ann was highly skilled at all types of fine arts and crafts, enjoyed owning two knitting stores, sold real estate, and worked at places where she could meet new friends. Ann was someone who never met a stranger, loved her friends dearly, was sincere, loyal, and a great storyteller, who had a quick wit and a great sense of humor.  She also loved hummingbirds, ladybugs, night blooming cereus, crossword puzzles and smiley faces She is survived by her sister, Marguerite Van Stolk of Staten Island, NY and children Susan Grisso, Bill Holloway and Ellen, Peter Holloway and Sheree, and Margaret Holloway; and eight grandchildren, Laura and Rachel Grisso, Andrew, Jeffrey, Alex, and Hirst Holloway, and Collin and Claire Holloway; and her beloved labradoodle, Hank.   Sincere appreciation  and heartfelt thanks to the superior care given to our mother on behalf of Hospice of Oklahoma County and Drs. Brian Geister, Nandita Keole, and Alan Hamaker and their staff.  We would also like to express our love and gratitude to our mother"™s caregivers, Mary Carothers, Judy Belisle, and Angela White. A private family ceremony will be held in Edmond at her home and a memorial will be held in Covington, LA at Christ Church of Covington on Saturday, January 29th at 10:00 am and reception immediately following at Tchefuncta  Country Club .
