Anna Gomez Biondo Howell passed peacefully in her son"™s home in MWC, OK at the age of 87. She was born in Grandfield, OK Nov 22, 1922. She spent her childhood in Carnegie, OK and graduated from Lawton High and attended Cameron University. She was a long time resident of Lawton. She was married to Joseph P. Biondo until he passed away. She then married Chilson H. Howell. She acquired her Real Estate License. She was one of the founding members of the Latin American Club of Lawton and was its first woman president. She was a member of Governor Nigh"™s Hispanic Affairs Committee and also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW and American Legion. She is survived by her Sister, Beatrice Gomez Calloway, (Antioch, CA) and seven children: Daughter JoAnn Biondo McKay (Don McKay) of Las Vegas, NV. Sal Biondo (Phoebe Cooper Biondo) of Saint Petersburg, FL, Ben Biondo (Alana Wade Biondo) of MWC, OK. In addition, Corliss Howell, Annamaria Howell Simpson, Deanna Howell Russell (Willie Russell) all of Lawton, Liliane Howell Taylor (Jay Taylor) of Broken Arrow, OK and ten grandchildren and 11 great-grand children. A special thanks to all those who assisted with her care nearing her final days, Todd Baker, her dear friend of the family; Courtney Linsford and all of the dedicated staff of Prairie View Hospice that were so loving and helpful. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Catholic Charities, American Diabetes Association or American Cancer Society in the name of Anna Howell. A graveside memorial service will be held at Fort Sill National Cemetery June 24, 2010 at 1:00 pm.
