Aris T. Prewitt

Artis T. Prewitt of Edmond, Okla. passed away peacefully on October 4, 2011 after suffering a stroke. He was born May 27, 1923 in Corbin, Ky. He came to Oklahoma in 1947 after serving in the United States Navy. In 1962 He joined the faculty of Central State College, now the University of Central Oklahoma, from where he retired in 1985. He spent his retirement hunting, fishing, painting and traveling, especially in Alaska, where he taught for several years during his retirement. He is survived by one brother, Ned of Kentucky; two sisters, Dolly of Kentucky and Fonnie of Mississippi; two sons, Steven of Houston, Texas and Wayne, of Edmond; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
