Avery W. Evans passed away at her home in Oklahoma City, OK on July 4, 2014 with her family by her side. She was born in Monticello, Maine on October 30, 1936 to Reginald and Jeane (Cullins) Rush. She is preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Dale E. Rush. She was a dedicated wife and loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She leaves her loving husband of 46 years, Gene Evans along with his siblings Vernon, Charles, Jack and Ann and their families; daughter Kimberly Huber, her husband Alan and grandchildren Cody and Ashlee of Simi Valley, CA; daughter Sabrina Cronenberger, her husband Duane of Fort Mill, SC and grandchildren Katishna of Columbus, OH, Melinda of Fort Mill, SC and Michael of Blackstone, MA; her sister Zona Simmons and her husband Carrol and family of Elkins, W.Va. She has two great grandchildren, Evan and Laurie of Columbus, OH. The family wishes to extend special thanks to her close friends Paula Nickl Guadagno and Carol Brown of Oklahoma City, OK for their endless devotion and assistance in her times of need and support of her dear friend Ruth Cavanaugh. A thank you to the nurses and aides of Valir Hospice for their assistance and support. She was employed at the Elks Lodge #417 of Oklahoma City as a waitress and cook who treated everyone as her family. She worked most of her life in the restaurant and domestic fields where her outgoing and vivacious personality would shine. She was an avid crafter and enjoyed collecting numerous items for display in her home. At her request cremation was honored and a memorial service will be planned for a future date.
