Betty Stansell

Betty Jean "Jacque" Stansell died peacefully in her home June 11, 2009. Jacque was born in Medicine Lodge, Kansas on August 1, 1923 to Owen Harris Tilley and Anna Laura Tilley (nee) Blanchette. She spent her childhood in Altus and Norman, OK and attended classes at the University of Oklahoma. Jacque worked as an executive secretary & administrative assistant well into her 20"™s in the oil, law, insurance, and accounting fields. She moved to Oklahoma from New Mexico in the 1950"™s. While working in Oklahoma City she me L. B. Stansell and in typical style they married in Las Vegas on July 6, 1963. Jacque had many interests: photography, gourmet cooking, decorating, painting & travel. She made many adventure filled trips to Mexico and South America in particular. Jacque had many friends from all walks of life. They will all miss her "never say die" spirit. She was truly a woman ahead of her time. She was preceded in death by her husband, L. B. Stansell, her parents, Owen and Laura Tilley, and a brother Stanley Tilley. Services will be held at 10 am, Tuesday at Resurrection Cemetery.
