Bettye Jean Heldenbrand of Oklahoma City passed from this life on October 12, 2021. Born on February 1, 1937 in Idabel, OK, she was the daughter of Carl and Dean Rose Boulton. She had one sister whom she dearly adored, Patsy Ann (Boulton) Knoblock. Bettye was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, (Memaw, Gigi and Grams -- depending on the grandchild), great-grandmother (Grams only), aunt, and friend to many. She was deeply loved by her family and held in high esteem by her friends and colleagues. She attended the University of Oklahoma and married her college sweetheart, James Turpin of Holdenville, OK, who was tragically killed at a young age. They had two children, James Mark Heldenbrand of Arizona and Cynthia Ann Freeman of North Carolina, who survive her. She has three grandsons, Trenton, Jeremy, and Branden Freeman, from her daughter, and two granddaughters, Ella and Jette Heldenbrand, from her son. After Jim’s death, she married Richard Heldenbrand, who preceded her in death. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Gavin Freeman, Cade Freeman, Kinslee and Reagan Freeman, and Tyler Simpson; her nieces, Kynda Houara and Kerrybett Dodson. In addition, she is survived by her son-in-law, Tom Freeman, and her daughter-in-law, Natalie Heldenbrand. The family would like to say a very special thanks to the staff of Select Specialty Hospital for their kindness and compassionate care for Bettye during her illness. A celebration of her life will be held on October 29, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Corbett Funeral and Cremation Service, 807 West Wilshire Blvd, Oklahoma City, OK 73116.
