Beverley Joy Hampton

Beverley Joy Hampton, age 74, passed away peacefully on the morning of January 30, 2024 at her home in Oklahoma City.  She was born September 2, 1949 in Glenwood Springs, CO, one of 6 daughters born to Billy and Myrtle Thompson.  She married LT. James L. Hampton (USCG Retired) on May 19, 2004 in Aurora, CO, the night before James had Triple By-Pass Heart Surgery. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake City, Utah Temple on June 7, 2009.


Beverley grew up in the Denver Colorado area, She attended Abraham Lincoln High School, graduating in 1968.  She also studied business while attending the University of Colorado and Arapaho Community College. Beverley served her country in the United States Air Force as a Staff Sergeant for two years. She was stationed at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, TX.  Throughout her life she lived in England, Odessa,TX, and Southern Colorado before moving to Oklahoma.

Beverley also worked at Denver International Airport for Several Years.


Beverley joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in 2003.  She served a five year mission for the church with the Addiction Recovery Program from 2012-2017.  She was also a Temple worker in the Denver, Colorado Temple.


Beverley loved staying busy and could be found crocheting, knitting, quilting, baking banana nut bread, loving on her house plants, gardening, fishing and dancing.  She also enjoyed listening to audio books.


Beverley is survived by her husband of nearly 20 years, James Hampton, children, Kimberly & Tony Neasbitt, Don and Jill Angell, Ken and Lilian Hampton, Melody and Mike Pizzi, and Shawn and Gine Angell, 17 grandchildren, Cody, Tyler, Kimberley, Emily, Logan M., Chris and his wife Jess, Zach his wife Kensie, Casey, Logan D., Ian, Anna, Leah, Michael, Caden, and Tate.  She is also survived by her sisters Barbara Guthrie and Julia Adams. Beverley was preceded in death by her parents, Billy and Myrtle Thompson, sisters, Joyce Shivvers, Veldia Stanton, and Delores Thompson. Beverley will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who loved her family.


Memorial service will be held Saturday, February 3, 2024 at 2 pm, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 12020 North Mustang Rd., Yukon, OK 73099.
