Mass of Christian Burial Thursday, December 19th, 2019 - 10:00 AM - (CST) - Christ the King Catholic Church - Oklahoma City, 8005 Dorset Drive - Oklahoma City, OK - 73120 James Brian Rupe, 55, passed from this life on December 13, 2019. His final days were spent surrounded by family and friends. He was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on May 11, 1964 to Ted and Amy Jo Rupe. Brian was a proud 1982 graduate of Bishop McGuinness High School. While there, he made many good and life-long friends. As a member of both the football and baseball teams, he was regarded by his teammates, coaches, and fellow competitors as a good player. He attended college at the University of Oklahoma. Brian enjoyed watching sporting events, especially those involving the children of his many friends, and of course, his beloved Sooners. He enjoyed helping others. Brian was predeceased by his parents and his sister Ann. He is survived by his brother Kevin (Susan); his sister Diane (Jeff); his aunt Mary Kathryn; his nephew Chris; his nieces Amy(Derek), Caitlin, and Molly; his brother-in-law Shawn; and his cousins David, Walker, Rick, Laurel and Susie. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:00 on Thursday, December 19th at Christ the King Catholic Church, 8005 Dorset Drive in Oklahoma City. Thank you to the many wonderful people who were able to spend some time with him in his last days and also for the kind words and recollections expressed by those on social media. Be not severe in Thy judgment, but let some drops of Thy Precious Blood fall upon the devouring flames and do Thou O merciful Savior, send Thy Angels to conduct Thy servant to a place of refreshment, light and peace. Amen. May the Angels lead thee into Paradise. May the Martyrs receive thee at thy coming and take thee to the Holy City. May the Choirs of Angels receive thee and mayest thou have rest eternal. Amen.
