Brody Jackson Mathias, 31, born April 1, 1980, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, died peacefully at home in Norman, Oklahoma on November 19, 2011, surrounded by his loving family and partner Stephen Collen. He joins his grandparents Joy "Nani" Brock and Sheldon "Paki" Brock. Brody lived most of his life in Norman, Oklahoma, where, in 1998, he graduated from Norman North High School. Shortly after high school, Brody and Stephen opened their own vintage clothing business, where he flourished for several years. Brody loved to travel, watch movies, and most of all paint. Brody is an artist whose artwork was his heart and soul. His paintings will live on forever. Brody was a wonderful and loving partner, son, brother, and friend. Nothing can ever replace Brody. He was a true champion of champions and he will be near and dear to all of our hearts for as long as we all shall live. We will miss him. Brody is survived by his partner, Stephen Collen; his mother, Debbie Hollrah; his father, Stephen Mathias; brothers, Brock Mathias and Eric Mathias; sisters, Gretchen Hollrah, Stephanie Mathias, and Shannon Mathias; grandparents, Pat Mathias and Charles Mathias; several cousins, aunts and uncles, and countless friends. The family would like to thank Susan, Shannon, Jan, Angela, and Pastor Danny from Lifecare Oklahoma Hospice of Norman, Dr. Blaine Lehr, Cindy, Jennifer and all of the staff, for always being there, and Dr Taylor, Dr Nordheus, Beverly and all the staff at Deaconess.
