Cheryl Garcia

d. March 16, 2011

Beloved wife, mother and grandmother, Cheryl Jean Garcia of Harrah passed away Wednesday, March 16, 2011 with her family at her side. She is survived by her husband Marcelino, her two daughters, Judy Reyes-Henderson and her husband David and Cindy Reyes and her husband Hugo, six grandchildren, Frankie Bernard III, Candace and Matthew Toombs, Michael Reyes and Gabrielle and Kyle Henderson. She was preceded in death by her father Johnny; mother Betty and oldest daughter Sonja Marie. Cheryl enjoyed crocheting for others and taking care of animals. Most of all she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. In lieu of flowers in memory of Cheryl, we ask that friends make a donation to the Cancer Research Fund, via the UCO Foundation. Please make checks payable to UCO Foundation, memo: Cancer Research Fund, 100 N. University Drive, Box 133, Edmond, OK 73034. Cheryl battled Inflammatory Breast Cancer for 4 months. This type of breast cancer is not very well known about and hard to detect. Our beloved Cheryl doesn't want anyone else to endure the pain that she felt, so if we could help even one person by spreading the word about this type of breast cancer, then we have fulfilled our promise to her. Other options for donations in memory of Cheryl can be sent to Horse Rescue organizations or Animal Sanctuaries. Any flowers received will be donated to Midwest Regional Hospital to bring a smile to other patients. Memorial services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 25, 2011 at Corbett Funeral Service.
