Clarrissa Foster died February 28, 2012, at the age of 94 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, due to complications related to illness. She was born in 1917 in Boley, Oklahoma, where she was a hardworking and loyal daughter who always helped her large family maintain the home and farm.
After graduating from Boley High School, Clarrissa attended Langston University before embarking on her life-long career as an elementary school teacher. Although she never had children of her own, her love for young ones was evident throughout her life and demonstrated by the tender affection and unselfish nature she had with her own nieces, nephews, brothers, sisters and all others who came in contact with her.
Her first teaching position would be in Arkansas and this is also where she would meet and marry her beloved husband of many years, Wendell Foster.
