Danny Frank Schluchter

Danny Frank Schluchter, 67, passed away on June 22, 2014 at OU Edmond Medical Center, in Edmond, Oklahoma. He was born on May 15, 1947 in Oklahoma City to Donald L. and Verne L. Schluchter. Danny grew up in Oklahoma City. He graduated from Northeast High School in Oklahoma City in 1965. After high school: • He attended Bacone Junior College, in Muskogee, Oklahoma. He received an Associate Degree in Arts and was on the National Junior College Athletic Association 1967 Baseball Team • He attended the University of Oklahoma, in Norman, Oklahoma • He joined the Army in 1971 and served for 4 years. He served his country at Fort Polk, LA and in Germany. He was honorably discharged in June, 1976, achieving the rank of Specialist 4. • Danny worked for Commercial Communications Inc and Amtel as a Communications Technician. He received numerous accredited certifications and awards for telephone communications and installations He enjoyed: Shooting pool, playing in various tournaments and winning 5th in national tournaments in 2002 through 2006 in Las Vegas, NV. Playing Golf at Lincoln and Lake Hefner courses in Oklahoma City with his buds. Spending time at home where he continuously watched golf on TV, worked crossword puzzles and read books by his favorite author, Louis L’amour. Attending high school wrestling tournaments to watch Scotty compete His Family: Danny was preceded in death by his father, Donald Schluchter; mother, Verne Schluchter; brother, Sam Schluchter. Danny married Karen in 2013 in Edmond, Oklahoma after going steady for five years. They were happily married. Danny is survived by his wife, Karen of Edmond, Oklahoma; his brother David (wife Sherrie) Oklahoma City, Don (wife Debbie) Edmond, his nieces and nephews: Tanya Persons, Rob Gresham, Tara Merit, Shelby Schluchter, Sierra Schluchter, Kurt Schluchter; grand nieces and nephews: McKinlee, Kyle, Star and Trey; step daughter: Kellye; step sons: Trent and Scott; and their mother Kaunni; and granddaughter Karly. A memorial service will be held at CityChurch, 6009 N.W. Expressway, Oklahoma City, OK on Saturday, June 28, 2014 at 3 p.m. The family will be greeting friends and relatives at 2:30 at the Church on that day. The family has asked if anyone wants to speak or has any fond memories of Danny to please feel free to share them at the service.
