Life Celebration Service Thursday, August 13th, 2015 - 02:00 PM - Edmond First Church of the Nazarene 3001 S Boulevard - Edmond, OK - 73013 Place of Burial Arlington National Cemetery Arlington, Virginia Dave Statton will be remembered for his zest for life, quick wit and his compassion for helping others. He was born in OKC, to parents Vernon and Betty Statton. He was one of six children and graduated from Meeker High School and then received his BS from Webster University in St. Louis, MO. He served two branches of the military, first a Vietnam Combat Veteran in the Navy and then later served in the United States Coast Guard before he started his lifelong career working for the State of Oklahoma. He served in numerous roles for the Department of Mental Health and Substances Abuse , which included serving as the Commissioner and later as chief of staff. After his retirement from the State, Dave still felt the need to serve and moved to Atlanta, GA where he served as Chief of Staff for the Georgia Department of Health and Human Services. Dave loved cruising on his boat at Grand Lake where he made lots of friends and gave his worldly advice to all who came into contact with him. He loved to travel in his RV and donate to the many casinos across the US with his wife and dog, Sir Winston along beside him. He loved to hunt, fish and snow ski. He loved to tell stories on his family and play mischievous jokes on his friends. Dave is survived by the love of his life for 42 years, Kaye Statton of OKC, his son Jerry and his wife Jennifer of Yukon, daughter and Michelle Malone and her fiancé Scott Patraw of Banner, and son Scott and his wife Tiffany and 5 grandchildren, one great grandson. Services will be held Thursday, August 13 at First Church of the Nazarene at 2:00pm - 3001 S Boulevard, Edmond. Per Daves request, please wear bright lively colors instead of black.
