Diane was born in West Palm Beach Florida to Sol and Rebecca Katz. She had a younger brother Dennis (deceased). She was raised in Jacksonville, FL until college. They were always a very loving family. She was a Daddy’s girl and Diane and Sol loved each other immensely. She attended Sophie Newcomb College in New Orleans, later graduating from Temple University in Philadelphia where she got her degree in Elementary Education. She was fortunate to take a couple Psychology courses at Harvard where at the time they were only allowing women to study there in the summer. She got A’s in both classes and was so proud! After teaching for a bit back in Jacksonville she took a teaching job in Dallas where she met her first husband, Marvin. They would later move to Oklahoma City adopting and raising two children, Randy and Debbie. They divorced after a long marriage. Soon after, Diane met and wed Jerome Asner who she described as the love of her life. They adored each other and lived happily together for over 18 years. She and Jerry were blessed to have the opportunity to take many adventurous trips which she so enjoyed. After Jerry’s death in 2018 Diane moved to Fort Worth, TX to be closer to her daughter and her family whom she adored. Diane is survived by her daughter Debbie Sharpe (husband Dan), grandchildren Errol, Sydney, Eric and Evan; son Randy; Jerome’s children Esther (husband Larry), Diana Robinson (husband Mike) and David Asner (wife Valerie) as well as their 8 children and 6 great grandchildren. Diane will be remembered for the light in her beautiful blue eyes as well as her memorable smile, laugh and energy. She was loved and will be greatly missed.
