On Oct. 13th, 2013, surrounded by loved ones, the light that was Dolores Kerns was extinguished. She is survived by daughter, Valerie Ravencraft and husband Paul, sons Philip Michael Kerns of Los Angeles and Vincent Kerns of NYC, granddaughter, Danielle Tolbert and grandson, Peyton Ravencraft. Born and raised in OKC, she moved to Buffalo, New York with her late, loving husband, Roy Knight Kerns, where she was publicity director of the Buffalo Philharmonic under Josef Krips. She returned to OKC, the city that she loved, to be with her loving parents, Euladell and Walter Beatty and brother, Walter Beatty, Jr., who now welcome her to heaven. Her many charitable works included tirelessly recording for the blind, volunteering with St. Luke's Methodist Church and St. Anthony Hospital. She will be remembered by all she met. Her optimism, humor and dramatic flair are gone from this world but no doubt enchanting the next. Graveside services are Thursday, Oct. 17th, 11 a.m. at Rose Hill Burial Park, 6006 NW Grand Blvd.
