Donald Ray Heflin born January 25, 1940 in Oklahoma City, OK to Bernice (Heflin) Rogers and Virgil Kitrell, passed on Nov. 20, 2011. Survived by his wife Colleen Heflin, four children Brent Heflin, Lora Laughlin, Carrie Tosh, Chris Heflin, his siblings Ann Day, Morris Heflin and Suzane Heflin, many nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren. At the age of 5, he was raised by Morris and Bernice Heflin, and still spent time with Virgil's family. We are comforted knowing he's with the Lord and healed. Don donated his body to ALS-Lou Gehrig's Disease research. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to either ALS or St. Jude's Children's Hospital, which are his charities of choice. Donald made the generous gift of donating his body to science for medical research, innovation and education through the GenLife Institute. GenLife Institute exists to provide people throughout the world with the ability to make a difference for future generations while living healthier and longer lives. Connecting donors and their families with medical researchers and educators who are dedicated to the advancement of medical innovation is the heart of the GenLife Institute organization.
