Edgar Peter "Pete" Hoffman passed away on February 6, 2009. Born in Oklahoma City on March 8, 1920, Pete was the youngest son of Major General Roy Hoffman and Estelle Hoffman. He attended high school at The Hotchkiss School and graduated from Yale University. During World War II, Pete served in the US Army as captain in the 694th Field Artillery Battalion and was awarded the Bronze Star for his efforts in the Philippine Islands. After the war, Pete became a distinguished banker for 30 years with The First National Bank and Trust Company of Oklahoma City. Active in the community, Pete was a board member of the Red Cross and Saint Anthony Hospital and was a trustee for Casady School. He was also a member of the first Nichols Hills City Council, where he later served as mayor. Pete had a passion for the outdoors, and loved to hunt and fish.
