Eldon Hodges

Eldon Lewis Hodges, 79, of Norman, Oklahoma, went to Heaven on April 1, 2012. He was born September 2, 1932 in Calera, Oklahoma to Ernest and Oneita Hodges. Eldon graduated from Oklahoma A & M University in 1954 and married Patricia Wolf that same year. He worked for Sun Oil Company in West Memphis, Arkansas then in Fort Smith, Arkansas for 16 years. In 1970, he went into the carpet cleaning business in Lubbock, Texas and later in Indianapolis, Indiana. In 1976, he moved to Norman, Oklahoma to join his family in the car wash business, which he was involved in until his retirement in 2006. He enjoyed travel, golf, bridge, joining his friends for coffee and, most of all, spending time with his family. Eldon was preceded in death by his parents and two of his younger brothers, Ozon and Jim Bob. He is survived by his wife Pat Hodges, his son Eliot and wife Jamelle Hodges, of Oklahoma City, his daughter Ruth Jackson of Norman, grandchildren Lauren Menchaca, Erik Hodges and Brennan Jackson, great-grandson Joaquin Menchaca, brothers Johny Hodges and wife Jovan of Ada, Oklahoma and Rick Hodges of Ardmore, Oklahoma, sister-in-law Terri French of Ardmore, Oklahoma, and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at First Presbyterian Church, 555 S. University Blvd., Norman, Oklahoma at 2:00 pm on Sunday, April 15.
