Ernest Langley Price Jr. is a distinguished WWII Veteran. He was a Private First Class in the Army Infantry CO F 503rd Parachute Infantry. He entered into the service at the age of 18 in Richmond, Virginia on September 22, 1943. He worked as a radio operator and received many marksmanship qualifications. He went on campaigns in both New Guinea and the Southern Philippines Liberation. During his service he received the Asiatic Pacific Service Medal with 3 Bronze Battle Stars and for the Philippine Liberation Service Medal with 2 Bronze Battle Stars, all five stars representing a battle when he was being fired upon and returning fire. He also received a Good Conduct Medal, and a World War II Victory Medal. He received a Purple Heart for being wounded on February 18, 1946. He was discharged from the Army Fort Bragg, North Carolina on January 22, 1946. His graveside service with military honors will be Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at 11:00am at Resurrection Cemetery (7801 NW Expressway, Oklahoma City, OK 73132).
