Funeral Service Wednesday, December 4th, 2013 - 10:00 AM - Resurrection Free Methodist Church 6000 N MacArthur Blvd - Warr Acres, OK - 73122 The Book of Life closed for Eugene Baker, Jr. on November 27, 2013. He was born to the proud parents of the late Eugene Baker, Sr. and Mary L. Baker on January 15, 1951 in Fort Sill, OK. Gene graduated from Lawton High School, and went on to earn an Associate’s Degree from Oklahoma State University. He worked several years for the Lawton Police Department, and he later transferred to the Lawton Fire Department from which he retired in December 1984. A man pure in heart, Gene married his life partner, Lorraine C. Baker, on April 20, 1985, where he proudly took on the role of father to her four children. He answered his calling to ministry and became a minister and national evangelist in the Church of God in Christ in September 1987. Gene was an active Mason and Shriner. He served the Masonry in several capacities including Past Worshipful Master of Alpha Omega Lodge #60, Junior Warden of Acacia Lodge #200, and member of the Great Western Consistory #34 and Alaraf Temple #20. Gene was a man of many talents, as he owned several small business ventures including a BBQ restaurant and a home improvement / small construction contractor. However, he was best known as a master jeweler and proprietor of Lorraines’ Jewelry and Repair for over 20 years. Gene was loved and cherished by all he came in contact with, who always considered him more of a father figure, brother, and friend. He is preceded in death by his father, Eugene Baker Sr.; his brother, Eddie Ray Baker; and his sisters, Jo Etta La Cour and Kathy Ann Baker. He leaves to mourn and cherish his memories, his mother, Mary L. Baker; wife, Lorraine C. Baker; two sons, Dwight (Rita) Wesley, and Tyrone (Stephanie) Baker; three daughters, Nicole (Will) Bates, Louksia Lewis and Andre Coleman; two sisters, Josie (Leroy) Young and Carolyn Baker; 14 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
