George Hill Jackson, Sr., age 91, died on February 12, 2013, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma where he had made his home since childhood. He was born January 24, 1922, in Oklahoma City to Winnie Vinita (Hill) Jackson and Robert Oral Jackson. He married Frances Mae Kern in Oklahoma City on December 20, 1944.
He was a partner in R. O. Jackson and Sons Wholesale Lumber with his father and older brother, Robert Oral Jackson, Jr. until his retirement. The company also built homes in the Oklahoma City area until the early 1970’s.
Mr. Jackson was an avid reader and student of history, delighting in the retelling of historical facts and events. He enjoyed hunting and collecting guns, an interest he shared with his son George and grandson Phillip. He was active for many years in Boy Scouts of America, Troop #98, serving in various capacities including Scout Master.
