Mark Marshall was born to Betty and George Marshall on October 8th, 1950, in Altus, Oklahoma. He peacefully joined his parents, Betty and George Marshall, and his sister, Patty, in Heaven on November 20th, 2023.
Living an extraordinary life, Mark was an Air Force brat, having lived in Germany and Japan. He graduated from military high school in San Antonio, Texas. Mark earned his Bachelor’s degree in History. Mark lived in Norman, Oklahoma, and settled in Edmond, Oklahoma.
He married his beloved wife, Barbara, and they shared twenty-eight years of marriage. He had two children from a previous marriage, Rebecca Block and Christopher Marshall, and three stepchildren, Michael, Eric, and Jason Dixon. He also had several grandchildren whom he dearly loved.
Mark was active in St. Luke's Church in Edmond and adored his Sunday school group. As a kind-hearted man, it wasn't uncommon for him to spot someone sitting alone in a crowd, then join them and have a meaningful conversation. His jovial spirit made him popular among his friends, family members, and the Facebook groups he followed.
A knowledgeable man, Mark worked for Village Library for over twenty years. Many appreciated his wisdom on topics such as history, living on a retirement budget, and politics, and he always remained respectful when engaging with others in person and online.
Mark will be greatly missed by all those whose lives he touched.
