September 1, 1938 – September 4, 2014, Bethany, OK, George L. Ramsey was born in East Liverpool, OH the oldest child of George A. Ramsey and Katherine K. (Miller) Fink. In his earlier years he was a member of the US Army and served a tour in Vietnam. George worked 37 ½ years for General Motors, starting in Lordstown, OH, where he had Badge #0001. He later transferred to the Oklahoma City GM plant when it opened in 1979, eventually retiring from GM in 2000. He loved fast cars, boats and motorcycles, and that passion led him to build more than 49 custom cars. George didn’t know a stranger. Everyone knew him as he always waived or honked when he saw friends and acquaintances. He was known by many nicknames over the years. His friends from Lisbon, OH knew him as Pudge. In Bethany he was known as Big Bubba or just Bubba, he was also called the Wolfman. To his grandchildren he was Poppa George or Poppy. George died suddenly and unexpectedly breaking the hearts of family and friends. In addition to his wife Barbara, George is survived by his sister Almedia (Ramsey) Tafini, children and spouses, Mike and Beth Ramsey, Michelle and Rick Filibeck, Tracey Coogan, step-children Micah Stroud, Cory and Brook Stroud; (9) grandchildren: Corey and Katie Ramsey, Ciara, Mariah and Dakota Filibeck, Shaun and Ciara O’Roark, Heather O’Roark, Dublin and Dean Stroud. A celebration of George’s life will be held September 20, 2014 at 2:00 pm in the Bud Robinson Event Room in the A.M. Hills Residence Complex, Southern Nazarene University Campus (North side of the Residence Complex) 4008 N. Peniel, Bethany, OK.
