Glen M. Goodwin, born July 26, 1923 passed away on July 19, 2012 at his daughters home in Norman, Oklahoma. WWII Navy Veteran serving his country as aircraft mechanic he was a Petty Officer First Class. He grew up in Perry, Okla. as the fourth of five children raised by his hardworking mother the late Essie Goodwin. During WWII while stationed in San Diego he met his bride Jerrine B Goodwin they were married for over 55 years. Jerrine passed in 2000. Glen and Jerrine developed several commercial properties and trailer parks in the California area. In the early 70's Oklahoma called them home and they settled in Claremore where they owned and managed Leisure Estate Mobile Home Park for over 25 years. They also redid the Historic Red Barn in Route 66 where they had a gift shop for many years. Glen was an innovative man creating all kinds of mechanical things from bits and pieces. His last project was remodeling a home on Grand Lake where the family enjoyed lake life for many years. Glen is survived by one daughter Diana J Behm Lasswell and her husband Guy of Norman, Okla. ; three Grandson's the pride and joy of his life, Trevor Behm, his caregiver, of Norman, Tim Behm United States Navy Petty Officer 2nd class stationed in San Diego, Calif. on the USS Bunker Hill, and Riley Behm of Norman, Okla.; one brother, Wallace Goodwin of Deming, N.M.; a sister-in-law Mary Goodwin of Perry, Okla., a Brother in Law Glenn Carlon of McCloud, Okla.; special family, Gary and Shirley Lasswell of Grove, Okla.; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife Jerrine Goodwin, His sister Gladys Carlon, another sister Isabell Goodwin and a brother Shirley Goodwin. A private memorial is planned, and there will be a graveside service 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 31 at Woodlawn Cemetery. Family members will receive friends at the Pink House immediately thereafter. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Salvation Army Corps in Altus, Okla., P.O. Box 484, Altus, OK, 73522.
