Glen Arthur Phillips Jr. died March 19, 2009, after a long illness. He was born Dec. 20, 1944, in Kansas City, KS, only child of Glen Sr. and Cora (Preston) Phillips. He was graduated from Turner High School in Argentine, KS, in 1962 and from theUniversity of Kansas in 1966. He pursued a journalism career as an editor for the Topeka Capital-Journal, the Oklahoma City Times, The Oklahoman, the Poteau News and Sun, Van Buren (AR) Press Argus-Courier and the White Mountain Independent (AZ). Returning from Arizona, he continued freelance editing while working in sales, worked as a school bus driver and playground monitor for Edmond Schools and was a private investigator/security guard. He is survived by his dearly loved wife, Mary and beloved stepmother, Faye Phillips of West Virginia, a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Martha and Rick Vickery, special aunt Grace Helms, his California cousins Linda Taylor, Kristy Ross and Debra Pierce and best friend Tom Maupin.
