Glen Albert Tomlinson

October 31, 1930 — March 23, 2025

Yukon, OK

Glen Albert Tomlinson, passed away peacefully with his loving family at his side on March 23, 2025, at the age of ninety-four. He was born on October 31, 1930, in Rocky, Oklahoma to Lora Lee and Cecil Merritt Tomlinson. He had four siblings, Dora Lee, Noreen Loretta, Edwin Dale, and George Cecil.

He married the love of his life, Darlene Estelle Whitfield on May 19, 1951, and raised four children Denise Carol, Debra Lynn, Connie Sue, and Christopher Glen.

As a young man, Glen attended Norman High School and established a career at Macklanburg Duncan until he retired after 42 years as a Transportation Supervisor. He eventually decided to return to the workforce with a new career as a Petroleum Landman for an additional 15 years of hard work and dedication. His most important calling in life was when he chose to give his life to Christ and was lovingly baptized by Brother Bob Tibbit. As a young man and devoted servant, his faith grew stronger as he dedicated his life to studying God’s word. After many years in the ministry, he became an ordained Elder at Church of the Firstborn where he held that position until his death. Glen’s faith was strong, unwavering, and never-ending. His prayers were spirit-led and spirit-filled. His greatest joy in life was seeing believers grow in their faith and his labor of love will be missed by many. Brother Glen loved the Lord with his entire heart and soul, and he continued his dedication to studying God’s Word until his Heavenly Father called him home.

Glen was preceded in death by: his parents; his wife: Darlene and his three siblings. He is survived by four children: Denise Foley and husband, Dave of Edmond, OK, Debra Benn and husband, John of Oklahoma City, OK, Connie Cooper and husband, Rocky of Tryon, OK and Christopher Tomlinson and wife, Malisa of Tuttle, OK: six grandchildren: Timothy Canaday of Oklahoma City, OK, Sarah Canaday of Edmond, OK, Lindsay Flynn of Yukon, OK, Aubrey Barnett and husband, Josh, of Seminole, OK, Haley Carter and husband, Billy of Tryon, OK, Cory Tomlinson of Mustang, OK, and eleven great-grandchildren: Karson, Payton, Cason, Edison, Amelia, Emma, Faith, Bill, Abby, Rhett, Ariah, and many nieces and nephews.

We are extremely grateful and feel tremendously blessed to have received so many beautiful prayers, cards, phone calls, and visits over the last year from so many who knew and loved Glen.
