Gunter Josef Bornhorn, 77, of Oklahoma City, died Nov. 15, 2015. Gunter was born Nov. 28, 1937 in Lohne in Oldenburg, Germany to Rosa & Ernst Bornhorn. He is survived by his wife Julie and their cats D’Ammit & StopIt. He was predeceased by his parents, and brothers Elmar and Peter. Gunter immigrated to the US in 1956 and was sponsored by his uncle Anton Fortmann. He had resided in Oklahoma City since immigrating, and loved all sports and casinos. He was drafted into the US Army, proudly serving for 9 years including two tours in Vietnam as a medic, and was awarded the Bronze Star. After retiring as a Brick Masonry Contractor, a trade he learned in Germany. He didn't much like retirement so he went to work for the next 15 years at NAPA as a delivery driver until his health force him to retire permanently. Gunter will be laid to rest with full military honors this spring at Arlington National Cemetery.
