Hairl Cantrell, 87, passed away Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at Tuscany Village Nursing Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Hairl was born October 16, 1927 in Henryetta, Oklahoma to William “Bill” Harold and Mary Jane (Threet) Cantrell. Hairl married the love of his life Rosie Delphene “Del” Hughes on October 23, 1954 in Eufaula, Oklahoma. They were happily married for 60 years. Hairl loved spending time with family and enjoyed fishing, gardening in his back yard, a good ribeye steak, and western movies. He was employed as a welder at Crane Carrier Company in Tulsa for 35 years. Hairl is survived by his daughters, Anita Parks and husband, John; Janet Fowler and husband, Ron; grandchildren, Shane Parks, Casey Parks, Gina Fowler, and Jared Fowler; great-grandchildren, Asher Parks, Noah Parks, Izabella Fowler, and Evelynn Fowler; brother, Bobby Cantrell; sisters, Laverna Dean and Mary Ann Babcock; and many other nieces, nephews and relatives. Hairl was preceded in death by his parents Bill and Mary Jane; and siblings, Pauline Williams, Irene Elliott, Billy Cantrell, Marion Cantrell, Everett Cantrell, and Kenneth Cantrell. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 2141 South 129th East Avenue in Tulsa at 10:30 am with Dan Pate officiating. A reception will follow at the Hicks Community Center, 3443 South Mingo Road. Hairl will be buried at Pierce Cemetery, Pierce, Oklahoma.
