Amy ‘Haley’ Weeks James died on October 10, 2014, aged 49. Amy grew up in Oklahoma City where she graduated Casady High School. She attended Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri and was the first person from that school to graduate with a triple major (in biology, psychology, and equestrian science). Amy later attended OCU Law School where she was active in a number of organizations and was president of the OCU Law School Native American club. During her brief life, Amy had a passion for taking care of the disenfranchised and unfortunate; she was recognized for her work as a Child Advocate in the Oklahoma Family Court System and she avidly loved animals, frequently caring for ones that were ill or abandoned. In particular, she loved horseback riding and instruction. She was able to work with a number of students who found the instruction therapeutic and healing. A chronic illness prevented her from working for the last several years of her life, so her legal career was cut short. She is survived by: her mother, Linda Adams Cutchall; her father, Warren Brinson Weeks, Jr.; and her brother, William Brinson Weeks.
