Helen Theresa Lukaszek, 99, of Plano, TX, peacefully passed from this life at home on Wednesday, July 31, 2013. Helen was a long-time resident of Oklahoma City having relocated in 1959 when her husband, Stanley, was transferred with Western Electric. Born May 24, 1914, in Chicago, Helen was the daughter of Joseph and Pauline Ostrenga. Helen is predeceased by Stanley, her husband of 74 years, two sons, Robert and Stanley Jr., twin sister, Tillie Surma, sisters, Loretta Avolio, Josephine Niekelski and Estelle Urbaniak, and brothers, Edwin, Chester and Walter Ostrenga. Helen is survived by her daughter, Dolores King, and her husband Ralph, brother, Joseph Ostrenga, daughter-in-law, Virginia Lukaszek, grandchildren Lauren Ivy, Jeffrey Lukaszek, Whitney Buquoi and seven great-grandchildren. Helen enjoyed serving others through many community projects for the Telephone Pioneers, her church, and the Polish Club. Helen was an active member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Mustang, OK until 2000 when she and Stan moved to St. Ann's Retirement Home. They were at St Ann's until 2007 when they moved to The Waterford Assisted Living in Plano, TX. After Stan passed in 2009, Helen moved to a private home in Plano where she resided with her wonderful caregiver, Annie Gibson. Helen's greatest love was her family. She was always there to provide unconditional love and support and we are forever grateful to have her in our lives. We thank her for what she shared and the wonderful memories that she created we will always cherish. She is a shining example to us all of the dedication and love required to make a family strong. Her guidance and example will live on with us forever.
