Hershell R. Grisham, 81 of Okla City made his peaceful transition on January 5, 2010 after a lengthy illness. He was born August 22, 1928 to W. D. and Dessie Grisham in Healdton, OK. He grew up in a family of eight, three brothers and four sisters. Hershell graduated from Healton High School and participated in all sports. He received a B.S. Degree from East Central University in Ada, OK. He served in the Air Force and was a veteran of the Korean War. Hershell married his childhood sweetheart and Love of his Life Joann on September 10, 1952, and they have had 57 years of marriage. They have three children and three grandchildren. He started his sales career with Vitacraft Cookware, and later Westbend. In 1968 he formed his own Advertising Company and retired in 2000. Hershell was a loving husband, father, brother and friend and will be missed greatly. Those who have gone before are his parents, his sisters Ela Simpson, Jimmie Roemer, Jeanne Morgan and brothers Gerald, Harold, and Will Grisham. Survived by his wife Joann, son Brent Grisham and wife, Deborrah of Okla City, daughter Diane Goebel and husband, Dee of Midland, TX, son Gary Grisham of Okla City and grandchildren Justin Grisham, Jamie Bleything, Grant Goebel and his sister Joyce Hickman of Denver, CO. Special thanks to caregivers Patricia, Rachied and the staff at Saint Ann"™s Nursing Home. Hershell was a very generous and caring person. His memorial service will be held on Monday, January 11, 2010, at 2:00 P.M. at the Unity Church, 5603 N. W. 41st, OKC, OK. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Unity Church.
