Hyla died peacefully surrounded by her family on Monday, October 31, 2016. She was born on January 22, 1936, in Oklahoma City. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ruth Elaine (Bray) and Herbert Kendrick Hyde, her beloved stepfather William H. Harding, and her two brothers and sister.
Hyla was a 1954 graduate of Classen High School, where she received an Ella D. Classen Award. She attended Briarcliff Junior College and the University of Oklahoma, where she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta fraternity. In 1958 she married the love of her life, Thomas Ryan Glover.
In 1980, Hyla entered the University Of Oklahoma College Of Law, graduating in 1983. She practiced law until her retirement from active practice in 1998. She was a member of the Oklahoma Bar Association, the Oklahoma County Bar Association and was a Master Emeritus in the Ruth Bader Ginsburg American Inn of Court. She was also a member of the Junior League of Oklahoma City.
