Jamarian Justin Jenkins, 19, entered this world as Jamarain Z. Jones, born on March 27, 2004, to Tai Jones in Shawnee, OK. At the age of six, Tai and grandmother Schelby Carthen entrusted Jamarian to the care and family of Susie, Sarita, and Benjamin Jenkins. He passed away on December 16, 2023, in Shawnee, OK.
Jamarian is survived by countless friends and family, including his grandparents Cisco and Schelby Carthen, Carl and Luise (Oma) Jenkins, and Larry and Mary Fletcher. He is also survived by birth mom Tai Jones, and mom Susie (Sara) Jenkins, siblings Sarita Jenkins Hayes, Benjamin and Heather Jenkins, Nehemias (Nemo) Jenkins, and Tia Bray, and his girlfriend, the love of his life, Sunnie Snider. He leaves behind numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, and extended family.
Jamarian had a gift for drawing people into falling in love with him. He was a precocious child with no social or personal space boundaries. His beautiful smile and amazing athletic abilities defined him. Despite having a super soft heart, he struggled with processing feelings. He had a passion for food, especially fine dining or his sister's cooking. Sarita was the first to see and fall in love with Jamarian at Good Shepherd Chapel, and he quickly started calling her Mommy.
To say Benjamin and Sarita would give the world to him if they could would be an understatement. He loved the cowboy life and attire. Jamarian attended Grove Public School for grades 1-8, where, despite learning challenges, he achieved success beyond expectations with the help of his teacher Lucy King, best friend and first love Gracelyn Pace, and supportive coaches, teachers, and friends. He later transferred to North Rock Creek for high school, excelling in basketball and track. While making many new friends, he always gravitated towards those in need of a friend.
Jamarian cherished traveling and experiencing the world, thriving when able to be himself in new places without expectations. He had a love for dressing up, good food, and an adventurous palate. He adored his dog Zach, babies, new experiences, and was a hard worker always willing to try something new. With incredible strength, speed, and a passion for life, he played hard and loved hard. Musically inclined, Jamarian played drums, guitar, and saxophone. He dreamed of becoming a recording artist and moving to California with his friend Andres. He shared a special bond with his nephew Emerson but will be missed by all the little ones in our family. In the last few years, he spent the majority of his time with "his girl" Sunnie because he couldn't stand to be apart from her.
Jamarian, we love you and will never forget you or your beautiful smile and dimple.
