James Benton Copeland

Tecumseh resident Jimmy Copeland, 57, left this life Saturday, March 5, 2016 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born Aug. 6, 1958, to John C. Copeland Sr. and Dorothea M. (McEuin) Copeland. He was a loving father, son, brother, and friend. He dedicated his life to raising two beautiful children. He was a graduate of Tecumseh High School. His father, John C. Copeland Sr., and his brother John C. Copeland II, preceded him in death. Survivors include his children: Angel and Jimmy Copeland, of his home; mother, Dorothea Copeland of Shawnee; brother, Thomas J. Copeland, of Tecumseh; stepmother, Patricia Copeland of Tulsa; uncle and aunt, Paul and Cyndi Copeland of Fort Worth, Texas; nieces and nephews, numerous cousins, other relatives and friends. Jim loved his children and spent a lot of time with his mother Dorothy. He enjoyed spending time at his children’s school activities especially their school band activities and sports.
