James Eldon Gibson

            James Gibson a loved and honored man left this earth on Sunday, July 16,2023. He was 87 years, 10 months and 24 days old. James passed away peacefully at his home with his wife and son by his side. James was born in Howe, Okla to James (Jim) and Ida Gibson on August 22,1935. He graduated from Elk City in 1954. He married his sweetheart, Vonna Jean Stone, in July 1954 and they just celebrated their 69^thanniversary. James joined the Air Force in 1954 and served through 1958. James was preceded in death by his beloved daughter Judy Gibson, his parents, one brother Glenn and one sister Pauline. James is survived by wife Jean Gibson of the home,  his daughter Janet (Joe) Remis of Broken Arrow, OK and his loving son  and caretaker James Gibson of the home. Affectionately know as Poppy. He is also survived by his loving grandchildren, Judy( Steven) Ford , Jami (Jon) Bryan , Jenifer Canterbury, Nina Gibson (Josh Adams) and Ryan Gibson. Thirteen great grandchildren, and two great- great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A special thank you to Lana and Garry Clagg, Staci and Lee Branch and Sami Branch for always being by our side when needed.
