Dr. James Daniel "Dan" Harvey Sr.

James Daniel “Dan” Harvey, MD June 25, 1935 - Oct. 5, 2013 Dan went to be with his Lord and Savior on October 5, 2013. He was born to Charles and Grace Harvey on June 25, 1935 in Electra,Texas. After graduating from Electra High School he attended the University of Texas in Austin where he was in the Long Horn Band and a member of Kappa Kappa Psi. In 1960 he received his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston where he was an officer in Theta Kappa Psi fraternity. Dan did an internship at the USVA hospital in Oklahoma City, his residency training at the USVA Hospital in Houston, Texas was interrupted by the Cuban Missile Crisis. He served as a Captain in the Air Force, stationed at Thule Air Force Base in Greenland. Upon discharge, he completed his residency training at the USVA and University of Oklahoma hospitals in Oklahoma City.
