Jim Richards was born on November 30, 1937, to Ruth and Frank Richards in Crescent, Oklahoma. He left his earthly life on January 14, 2014, after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Jim attended the University of Tulsa, worked in the Accounting profession for many years, and was a talented bowler. “Jimmy” to most family, “Daddy” to his girls, and “Papa Jim” to his grands, he was an avid fan of most sports, but, primarily, bowling, football, and tennis. He was an active member of Ridgecrest United Methodist Church for many years. He was preceded in death by his parents, his two brothers, Ralph Richards and Virgil Richards, and his sisters, Mary Ransford and Joy Hamburger. He is survived by two sisters, Jeanne Stewart and Gaye Johnson, Gaye’s husband Arthur, two daughters, Lesli Walsh and Kristin Emerson, Kristin’s husband Harry, grandchildren, Corey Dunlap, Hannah Campbell, Sean Walsh, and Reilly Emerson, great-grandchildren, Savannah Dunlap and Robbie Pete, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Jim will be dearly missed. We sincerely want to thank the staff (and our Sherry) at Integris Hospice House, who lovingly cared for Daddy in his final days. A memorial service will be held at Resurrection Free Methodist Church, 6000 North MacArthur Boulevard, Warr Acres, on Monday, January 20, 2014, at 10:00 a.m.
