James Kenneth Vetovitz took his final ride to his heavenly home January 26, 2014 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at 50 years old. He entered the hospital January 8th and was acutely ill and continued to decline. He was raised by Bill Vetovitz of Ohio and Sally Griffith Vetovitz of California. He was born May 26,1963 in Hamlet, North Carolina and grew up in Ohio. He resided several times in Oklahoma and returned to Oklahoma in 2002. He served his country in the Marines from 1980 to 1982 when he received an honorable discharge. He worked most of his life as a welder and ironworker. He was a member of St. David’s Episcopal church. He loved his 1954 triumph motorcycle he built and enjoyed riding. He enjoyed taking vacations and showing his wife places she had never seen. There were many kids who looked to him as a dad image and he loved them and always helped them as he could. He was Gampa to the babies. He had a personal rule and wouldn’t hold them until they could walk or crawl to him. He was always ready to help friends and family. He could work on most anything or create a way to make it work and always had a project going. He married his best friend Pamela K Estes Vetovitz January 6,2007. They had been friends since 1983. He is survived by his wife, daughters Jessica Bresock of Ohio and Katherine Grantham and husband Charles of Oklahoma City, numerous children who looked up to him as Dad and Gampa Jim, brothers Mike Vetovitz of Ohio, John Vetovitz of Arizona, Brian Vetovitz of Colorado, half sister Lisa Dawn Berry of Oklahoma, biological father Dallas Daugherty of Oklahoma and many extended family . Service will be Saturday February 8th, 2014, 11:00 am at St. David's Episcopal Church (3333 N Meridian Ave. Oklahoma City, Oklahoma) with The Rev.Tracey Carroll presiding. Burial will be in the Memorial Garden at St. David’s following. Please in lieu of flowers make donations to St David’s in memory of Jim.
