Janice Lynn McConnell Kerr went to heaven on January 6 with family by her side. Janice was born in Hoisington, Kansas, on January 27, 1956 to Warren and Margie McConnell. Just after graduating from Hennessey High School, Janice married her sweetheart Richard (Rick) Kerr on June 14, 1975. She and Rick were married for over forty years and lived just outside of Marshall, Oklahoma. Janice constantly cared for family and friends by giving of her time and love. She possessed a true servant's heart and faithfully served in her local church which was a place she loved. She had a passion for prayer and children’s ministries. Affectionately called “Granny” Janice loved to hug, read, pray, and watch her grandchildren play in ball games. Janice also loved to chat with friends and family, enjoyed traveling, and had a true zest for life. Janice was active in Eastern Star and had served in 2006 as Grand Chaplain for Oklahoma. Janice was employed as a care giver, devoting herself to all those for whom she cared. Janice is survived by her husband Rick, son Richard Kerr and his wife Angela, daughter Janie Taylor and her husband Curtis, son Dustin Kerr and his wife Melanie, and 112 grandchildren: Cody, Cade, Paige, Bailey, Jacob, Claire, Isaac, Vanessa, Courtney, Erin, Erica, and Elli. Janice is also survived by her parents Warren and Margie McConnell, a sister Linda McConnell and Tom Backiel, a brother Wayne McConnell and his wife Charla Ann, a sister Kathy Stegall and her husband Gerald, a brother Warren McConnell and his wife Jenni, and many beloved nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on January 16 at 1:00PM at the First Baptist Church in Covington, Oklahoma. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been set up in Janice's name at the First Bank & Trust in Covington, Oklahoma. (P.O.
