Jason Normington Rainey, 55, of Edmond, Oklahoma, passed Saturday night at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City.
Jason was born in Baltimore, Maryland in 1966 and then spent his life growing up in Oklahoma from 1967 forward. He attended Deer Creek High School where he forged life-long friends and discovered his love of acting. He graduated from the University of Oklahoma after serving as Rush Chairman for the Delta Upsilon Fraternity (Δϒ). He went on to a lifelong career in sales, where he founded and operated his own Medical Device Distributorship.
Jason has joined his father, James L. Rainey Jr., who passed in March of 2020. He is survived by his 3 daughters, Peyton, Paige and Parker, and his youngest son, Max, who he loved fiercely; as well as Gena, mother to his children, and his 3 older brothers, James, Pat, and Rob, his older sister, Sarah, and his mother, Edith. He leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and other extended family that will deeply miss him.
Jason was always the center of attention at every gathering; a witty goofy, charismatic personality that everyone wanted to be around. Missing a chance to spend time or go on an adventure of some kind with Jason was missing out on unexpected stories and memories that would become some of the highlights of your life. Everything he did, he did in the “Jason Rainey” way, making his mark on the world with every action and every conversation. He was truly loved by so many people whose lives will all be inevitably duller without the frequent company and love of Jason in it. He will be remembered for his love of Ireland, reading, and most of all, his family and friends.
