If you were looking for something resembling an online dating profile with Jeff York's educational background, his hobbies, and how he made his living you came to the wrong funeral. Get that stuff from Facebook. Today we honor a man who you can't distill down to a page of mundane statistics. Jeff's life was bigger than real estate and motorcycles and guns. Jeff's life was more than scuba diving and Hello Kitty and personally financing the lives of every Hooters waitress in Oklahoma. Jeff's life wasn't the things he did or the stuff he had or the places he went. His life was the people he loved. Jeff's life was us. Jeff made friends with whoever he met, wherever he went. Jeff thought everyone matters and that everyone is important. Being Jeff's friend was like being a member of an exclusive club with incredible benefits, but very lenient membership requirements. We all experienced it. We did nothing to deserve it. We just met him, and he did the rest. One meeting, one chance encounter with this beatific, generous man and then there was joy. Unadulterated, honest bliss came from just having him in your life. He was our friend. Not just a friend to the people at this service, and not just a friend to the people he saw every day. He was a friend to everyone he met. Through the simple fortune of knowing him we all got to experience something special that most people don't get to enjoy. Remember that from now on. Remember how lucky you are to have known Jeff York, and that he felt the same way about you. Memorial Service Thursday, August 15th, 2013 - 02:00 PM - Resurrection Free Methodist Church 6000 N. Macarthur Blvd - Oklahoma City, OK - 73122 Pastor Robert Davis of LifeChurch.tv - NW OKC Campus- officiating
