Dear Family and Friends, With a heavy heart we write to tell you that after Jess' five-year battle with liver disease, we were with him when his last breath filled the room with silence on Sunday, December 30 at 5:32 pm. We are comforted by knowing he is with his Lord, embracing the only thing he has ever asked for - Peace. Jess Dale Butler, age 44, entered into eternal peace on December 30, 2012 at the Baptist Memorial Transplant Center in Oklahoma City. He was born on July 16, 1968 in Orange, California, and was the oldest son of Marsha and Gary Butler. He graduated from Tulsa Memorial High School in 1986. For two years he thoroughly enjoyed attending classes on the campus at Northeastern Oklahoma College in Miami. He was a Mazzio’s manager for many years, but for the last 12 years has worked for Summerside Vineyards, Winery. A celebration of our son, brother, father, grandson nephew, uncle, friend, beloved winemaker and vineyard consultant's life, will be held at 2pm on the grounds of Summerside Vineyards in Ketchum, OK this Saturday, January 5. We will gather at 1pm at the winery in Vinita, caravan to the vineyard at 1:30 and the celebration will begin at 2:00. Please know you are invited back to the winery for food and a toast to Jess. In lieu of flowers a benefit fund has been established for his children, Alex age 12, and Alexis age 10.
