Jessie Harris, 84, passed from this earth and woke up in heaven on Sunday, June 23, 2013. She was born in Belmont, OK to Jesse and Nora Johnson on April 14 1929. She lived in Paden, OK, until 1942 when she moved to Okla. City where she graduated from Classen High School in 1947. During the summer of 1947, she met Charles Harris whom she married in 1949. Survivors are: Husband Charles; daughter Linda Bailey of Yukon, OK; daughter Marsha Haycock of Hilton Head Island, S. C.; son Dr. Charles Harris Jr. of Okla. City; In-Laws Mary Jo and Charlie Bell of Amarillo TX and Bill and Betty Harris of Okla. City; two son-in-laws, three grandchildren, four great grandchildren and a great host of cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, four brothers, and a sister. Jessie served 17 years as a docent at the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum and 7 years as a volunteer usher for the Lyric Theater. Jessie worked in banking while living in Tulsa during the 70'S and 80'S. After moving back to Okla. City, she enjoyed working part time at TresChic in Northpark Mall. She is currently a member of Quail Springs Baptist Church. However, for the past several years she has been hosting the Sunday morning Chapel service at the Baptist Retirement Center. The family wishes to thank the personnel of Hospice of Oklahoma County and Integris Hospice House for the loving care they bestowed upon Jessie. A memorial service will be Thursday, June 27 at 2 p.m. at Quail Springs Baptist Church, 14613 N. May Ave., Rev. Jerry Walker officiating.
