Graveside Service Thursday, September 11th, 2014 - 02:00 PM - Eighty-Six Cemetery Lat / Long: 35.785, -94.291 - West Fork, AR - 72774 Orval Jimmy Secrist was born May 2, 1940 in Prairie Grove, Arkansas to Orval and Mabel (Earl) Secrist. He passed away in his home in Moore, Oklahoma on September 5, 2014 at the age of 74. He is preceded in death by his father and mother and his older brother, Earl Secrist. Jim graduated from Will Rogers High School in Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1959 and moved to Moore, Oklahoma in the late 70's. He was a draftsman and continued to work fulltime until June of this year. He was a man of few words, but his actions spoke loudly of his character. He was a very kind, generous, dependable, hard working man whose family was the most important thing to him. He put his children and all of his family first, always. He leaves behind his younger brother Edward Secrist and his wife Judy of Moore, Ok; his son, Andy Secrist of Moore, Ok; his daughter Jamie Brown and husband Charlie of Jay, Ok; his daughter Sarah Brown and husband Carl of Stilwell, Ok. Also, his pride and joy, his grandchildren Tyler Secrist, Rachael Secrist, Misty McQueen, Kinsy Brown and Maddy Brown; his niece and nephews Mark Secrist and wife Cheryl, Mike Secrist and wife Gina, Melanie Walenciak and husband Jim, and Jimmy Secrist and wife Tanya; also his extended family and friends who all meant so much to him but are too many to list. Each person he had a relationship with knows how much they meant to him. Jim never gave any reason to doubt his loyalty and love and he will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. God truly blessed us with having him and it is a comfort to know that he is resting in peace now with no pain or sickness, even though his absence will be profoundly felt each and every day until we can see him again.
