Jimmy Lee Dean, 91, entered into eternity on February 21, 2021. He was born December 21, 1929, in Yeager, OK to Clifford and Roberta Dean. Growing up, Jim enjoyed riding his horse, Tony, working on the family farm, and playing his favorite sports, baseball and basketball. Jim graduated from Yeager School in 1948. Following high school graduation, Jim enlisted in the Navy in June of 1948. The majority of his military service was spent on a destroyer attached to a carrier strike force in the Korean War. Jim received seven medals during his enlistment. After being honorably discharged in 1952, he earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting from Oklahoma State University. Soon after graduating, Jim went to work at Braniff International Airways and spent over 20 years there as a ticket agent, ultimately retiring from the University of Central Oklahoma in 1999. Jim met his wife, Marilyn Wiens of Pond Creek, in Oklahoma City during December of 1960. They were married on June 30, 1963 and spent 54 loving years together. Jim is survived by his two sons, Scott and Steven; two grandsons, Zachary, his wife Morgan, and Jared; his sister Margaret Jones and brother Paul and their families. He was preceded in death by his youngest son, Kevin Paul, and wife, Marilyn. There will be a viewing on Wednesday, February 24, from 5 - 7 p.m. The memorial service will be Thursday, February 25 at 10 a.m. Both will be held at Corbett Funeral & Cremation in OKC.
