John Lewis Cooper passed peacefully on Father’s Day morning, June 16, 2024. He was 89 years old and had recently relocated to Oklahoma City from Gordonville, TX. John was born January 13, 1935, in Sulphur, Oklahoma, and was the son of Zachary Taylor and Gertrude Carpenter Cooper.
He graduated from Central State University in Edmond, OK with a degree in Physics and was an Electronics Engineer for the Federal Aviation Administration. John enjoyed playing the guitar, fishing, boating, running, cycling, and gardening. He also enjoyed spending time with his granddaughters.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Nadean Cooper, and his younger brother, Paul E. Cooper and his wife, Arcy Cooper, also brother-in-law, George Danielson, two children, Robert Cooper (daughter-in-law, Michelle Cooper) and Dolores Aughtry (son-in-law, Pascal Aughtry), and grandchildren Amanda Cooper and Emily Cooper and Shelby Aughtry, Allison Aughtry, and Monica Aughtry.
