John Foree

John Lynord Foree passed away November 12, 2013 after a lengthy illness. He was born April 7, 1934 in Oklahoma City. He was preceded in death by his parents Ruth and Lynord L. Foree. John graduated from Northeast High School, and attended the University of Oklahoma. He served eight years in the U.S. Air Force, and retired from the U.S. Post Office. He was a member of NALC and a lifelong member of the Church of Christ. John is survived by his wife, Vianna; sister, Nancy O'Rourke; niece, Lynda Hamlet Esch and her husband George; nephew, Michael Bradshaw and his wife Kim; great nephews, David Hamlet, Nathan Hamlet and wife Ashleigh; and Kyle Hamlet. John was an uncomplicated person who loved his family, bowling, sailing his boat on lake Hefner, and OU football. John Wayne was his hero, and he spent many an afternoon watching western movies on television. The family wishes to thank Bellevue Health and Rehabilitation Center, especially Leo, Joan, Corey, Leatrice, Deondra and Lindsey for their loving care while John was there. Services will be held Friday, November 15 at 10:00 a.m. in the Mayfair Church of Christ Chapel, 2340 Northwest 50th with burial at Memorial Park Cemetery.
