John Patrick "Pat" Garvey died on Friday, August 13, 2010, at Mercy Health Center after a battle with cancer. He was 62 years of age. Pat attended Bishop McGuinness Catholic High School before joining the U.S. Army in February, 1966. He was an intelligence analyst in Berlin, Germany, before being recruited by Special Forces. An E-5 at the age of 19, he was assigned to Vietnam with the 101st Airborne Division. He earned a National Defense Service Medal and a Vietnam Service Medal with two Bronze Service Stars. After the military, Pat established Garvey"™s Locksmith Service in Oklahoma City and built a successful, 35 year career as a locksmith. Pat was devoted to his family and to his country. He traveled many times to Green Bay, WI, to watch his Packers play in Lambeau Field. He lived life on his own terms and with a great sense of humor.
