John A. Peters

Johnny Asaby Peters, 89, joined his beautiful wife of 62 years, Donna Mae, in their heavenly home on August 25, 2016. He died in his sleep, at St Ann's Home in Oklahoma City. He was born on April 29, 1927 and was a true gentleman with a gentle soul and generous spirit. He loved his family and our Lord Jesus Christ. He was a veteran, machinist, farmer, a musician and a mechanic who could fix, build, or grow anything he put his mind to. He could fix anything with a piece of string or bailing wire. If he couldn't fix it, it wasn't broken. He did all these things to the tune of a country music song. John always lent a helping hand, tool or quart of oil to those in need, also to the tune of a country music song. Hardly ever was a conversation concluded without Johnny mentioning, "there is a song about that......" and he would roll off the words of one of the million songs he kept in his heart. Johnny and Donna had five children, parented foster children in their home, and worked in the church nursery...
