Held at 10am at The Fellowship Free Will Baptist, 722 W. 26th Street Stillwater, OK. Johnnie Thomas was born on October 25th, 1946 in Houston, TX. His parents are George William Thomas Jr. and Verna Pauline Skoba. When his mom passed, his father remarried Iva Gillispie on January 24th, 1953. After high school, he attended Vo-Tech in Okmulgee, OK. Johnnie has worked for RC Cola, Pepsi Cola, Oklahoma State University, El Chico's, and Chili's before he retired at the age of 63. Johnnie first met his TRUE LOVE in high school, but went their separate ways until they reunited in 1976 at RC Cola inc. (Tulsa, OK.). He married Diana Lynn Brown in August, 1976. Diana had a daughter named Carol Ann. From the first time he laid his eyes on her, he knew he wanted the role of her Daddy. When she turned 12 years old, he proudly gave her his last name (legally). Johnnie loved fishing, going to sporting events, and stamp and coin collecting with his Granddaughter (Baby/Pumpkin). He also loved going to Casinos with his loving wife, Diana. He was a die-hard Oklahoma State, Stillwater Pioneers, and OKC Thunder fan! Johnnie is survived by his daughter, Carol Ann Thomas-Fry and her husband Adam Matthew Fry from Oklahoma City, OK. His granddaughter/pumpkin, Brooke Alexis Thomas-Fry, also from OKC. His mother, Iva Thomas, from Arlington, TX. His two sisters, Deloros Trumbo (Stillwater, OK) and Jan and her husband Ernie Miller from Arlington, TX. And his two brothers, Troy and his wife Rebecca Gillispie from Arlington, TX and Marvin and his wife Eileen Thomas from Bellefourche, South Dakota. And several brother and sister-in-laws and also by nieces and nephews and Aunts and Uncles. Along with three boys whom he helped raise Drew Wayne, Cody Lee, and Joshua Kade Wehr. He is proceeded in death by his loving wife Diana Lynn Thomas and his parents George and Verna Thomas. Along with his grandparents Everett and Rena Thomas. And various others that have passed. He was taken care of until his time of passing and spent his final months (7) with a “special” woman, Barbara Roberts. He was extremely hard-working and did anything he could to take care of his family and the people he cared about. He was a very kind hearted man, which is difficult to come by, and always tried to keep a smile on peoples' faces. Johnnie loved his Heavenly Father and was dearly loved by everyone around him. He will be greatly missed by anyone who took the time to get to know this great soul. As well as loved deeply and missed by his Daughter and Granddaughter.
